Custom sportfishing boatbuilder, Release Boatworks, debuts its Release 46 at the Miami International Boat Show, February 16-20. Offering only the best to its customers, the Release 46 will showcase VEI Technologies’ 15″ sunlight marine displays in a semi-custom, one-piece bezel. Miami Boat Show visitors can stop by the Sea Isle Marina and see the boat in slip #318. VEI is located in booth #1622.

“We chose VEI because they consistently deliver custom intelligent solutions that are tailor made to the clients’ requirements, using only the highest quality components,” said Jon Thaw, VP of sales for the custom yacht division of High Seas Technology, Inc. High Seas Technology is the dealer responsible for selecting VEI displays for the Release 46.

“From conception to delivery was 8 weeks, I don’t believe any other display manufacturer could have achieved that goal in twice the timeframe,” continued Thaw. “We are extremely satisfied with the look, functionality and the prompt delivery on a truncated time frame.”

VEI’s sealed monitors are manufactured from marine-grade aluminum and include stainless steel hardware. They’re built to resist shock, vibration, water and corrosion. Black, white or gray finishes are available to match any interior with custom bezel or no bezel options.

The 46 is the flagship of the Release Boatworks fleet and is one of the first boats in its class to be designed from the keel up to utilize pod drives. Strikingly beautiful on the water, the 46 is available in three different configurations, convertible, express and walk-around, each with a distinctive benefit for its owners.

Night vision technology is designed to help boat owners and captains see and navigate better in low-light and rough conditions. But, a constantly moving image can be hard to watch and important details may be missed. Now, OceanView Technologies introduces SteadyView video stabilization as an option to its Apollo night-vision cameras.

This unique option eliminates the effects of unwanted camera motion on a marine display. SteadyView turns shaky, unclear video into crisp, clear actionable information.

“OceanView is proud to bring this amazing new technology to the marine night-vision market,” said Kelly Hulse, OceanView Technologies’ Chief Technology Officer. “OceanView revolutionized the way we navigate at night, SteadyView makes night vision usable when things get rough”

SteadyView can be added to all existing Apollo and Apollo II installations and can be combined with either thermal or low-light cameras. It requires no additional motion sensors, everything is contained in one unit. SteadyView won’t wear out the pan and tilt motors in the camera, since there are no moving parts. The video stabilization can also be turned off when owners don’t want to use it. This innovative option takes under an hour to install.

A video clip of the effects of video stabilization can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rf8N67-I7KI.

OceanView Technologies’ optional SteadyView video stabilization for its Apollo night-vision cameras costs an affordable $2,995.

VEI AND OCEANVIEW SUPPORT FISHING SHOOTOUT WITH SPONSORSHIP

Supporting one of the most spirited and elite sportfishing tournaments, OceanView Technologies and sister company VEI Technologies are sponsoring the 31st Bertram/Hatteras Shootout. Taking place May 3-7, the invitational is held in Abaco, Bahamas and is open to all Bertram and Hatteras boat owners up for the challenge.

“Much of our equipment is commonplace on most of the world class sportfishing boats in the competition. Sponsoring this event is a good opportunity to not only support the Shootout but, also our customers,” said Mike Bader, OceanView CEO. “We’re very proud to have our name associated with this highly successful event.”

OceanView is a world leader in maritime multi-sensor night-vision camera manufacturing. It supplies night-vision to the pleasure craft, sportfishing, super yacht, cruise ship, commercial vessel and military markets. The marinized systems withstand water, salt, corrosion and the tremendous pounding of the sea.

For over two decades VEI has manufactured marine electronics and has become the industry standard. The company offers a full line of marine displays, computers, display switches, electronics and accessories.

Establishing a mutually beneficial collaborative effort OceanView’s Apollo II night vision camera can now be fully integrated into Furuno’s NavNet 3D navigation system. With this cooperative endeavor, the Apollo II is the only thermal system that can be managed without an external controller, providing a seamless, complete package. Yacht owners can control their OceanView camera’s functions, such as pan, tilt and zoom through the Furuno system.

“OceanView cameras are easily compatible with our NavNet 3D system, making them an ideal collaborator,” said Dean Kurutz, Furuno marketing manager. “We enjoy a good working relationship with OceanView and full integration takes it to the next level.”

“Helm space is at a premium on many boats,” continued Kurutz. “With the Apollo II camera fully integrated into NavNet 3D, there are no extra controls to take up space. It makes monitoring and controlling a boat’s night vision system quick and easy.”

“While the Apollo II camera is the first to be integrated, our Poseidon and Zeus cameras are also compatible with NavNet 3D,” said OceanView CEO Mike Bader. “This enables owners to find the best solution for their night vision needs.”

The NavNet 3D system makes navigating a vessel easier than ever before with TimeZero technology facilitating chart redraw, zooming, chart panning, changing chart display modes and other chart handling functions without limited range presets. It operates in a fully digitized environment with highly sensitive digital sensors for radar and fish finders. Built on an Ethernet network, NavNet 3D enables users to add as many components as they desire along with up to ten displays to create their perfect navigational suite.

The Apollo II is a thermal camera and low-light camera in one unit. Both images can be displayed simultaneously on two displays or on one display with split screen. The Apollo II is the least expensive multiple camera system available in the marketplace and sells for less when used with Furuno NavNet 3D as there is no external controller required. It is available in four models: thermal and low-light, thermal only, low-light only and HD. The Apollo II is ideal for sportfishermen, expedition yachts, megayachts and sport yachts, as well as commercial, military, fire and police boats.

October 15, 2010 – Boca Raton, Fla.

When Hatteras Yachts debuts its innovative and market-breaking new GT60 sportfishing boat at this year’s Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show, it will come equipped with three All Glass LED Marine Displays at its helm manufactured by VEI Technologies Inc., as well as the cutting edge, Apollo II Thermal/Low-Light Night Vision Camera supplied by VEI’s sister company, OceanView Technologies.

VEI’s LED Series Marine Display System was introduced earlier this year at the Miami International Boat Show. It shook up the staid world of marine display design with this new advanced system, which is brighter, sharper, and produces far less heat than standard marine monitors. These monitors display charts, radar, the Apollo night-vision camera and an engine room camera. One simple to operate LCD control unit manages what input is viewed on each screen and controls the screens functions.

The Apollo II series of affordable, combination low-light/thermal night-vision cameras are favorites with recreational boaters and commercial mariners alike, allowing for safe boat operation in the dark of night, as well as in bad weather conditions. Both images can be displayed simultaneously on two displays or on one display with split screen. Standard features include an LCD Control Unit, 2x Digital Zoom, Instant home, On-Control Unit Camera Direction Indicator, and variable color palette, as well as continuous 360 Degree Pan and tilt.

Both the VEI Display controller and the Apollo camera controller are exactly the same for ease of use and a beautiful look at the helm.

Hatteras GT 60

The new GT60 is the first boat in the Hatteras GT Series, an exciting family of tournament class convertibles designed for serious anglers. It comes to market with best-in-class performance, unforgettable styling, and the kind of solid construction that has made Hatteras Yachts a market leader for more than 50 years. The new Hatteras GT60 is the culmination 50 years of leadership in convertible design and propulsion development, combined with the latest technological advances in materials and methods utilized in fiberglass construction.

For more information, visit: http://hatterasyachts.com/page.aspx/pageid/27657/page.aspx

The VEI/OceanView Choice
Given GT60’s innovative and market-leading features, it was only natural that Hatteras chose both the VEI LED marine displays and OceanView Apollo II low-light/ thermal night-vision camera for inclusion on this world-renowned sportfishing boat.

“This is the most advanced and cutting edge sportfishing boat that Hatteras has ever manufactured,” said Mike Bader, COO of VEI Technologies and CEO of OceanView Technologies, Inc., of Boca Raton, Fla. “They chose our cameras and screens because they are simply the best, most cutting edge and reliable products available in that space”.

Come see for yourself by seeing the new Hatteras GT60 at the Hatteras Yachts display and viewing the entire line of VEI and OceanView products at booth 382-384 in the Electronics Pavilion at Bahia Mar.
